Singapore has a reputation for its lack of tolerance to anti-social behaviour. For example a person caught dropping litter faces a fine of up to $1000 whilst chewing gum is banned.
Singapore also supports capital punishment, with the death penalty implemented for those convicted of trafficking drugs. It is the mandatory penalty for those convicted of trafficking, manufacturing, importing or exporting more than 15g of heroin, 30g of morphine, 30g of cocaine, 500g of cannabis, 200g of cannabis resin and 1.2kg of opium.

Travel

Singapore Changi Airport is a major international airport, regularly used by many of the worlds airlines, including its own Singapore Airlines. The airport has three terminals and handles 70 million passengers per year. You wont have too much problem in getting a flight from your home town.
Nightlife
Singapore has a vibrant nightlife with a plethora of up-market bars and nightclubs and like most of Asia, there are plenty of Karaoke bars! Gambling is illegal so youll have to give casinos a miss, but youll have to find the time to visit the famous Raffles Hotel, home of the Singapore Sling.

Singapore Transport

Transport is excellent in Singapore with most people choosing to travel by bus, taxi or on the famed MRT (Mass Rapid Transit). This modern, reliable and reasonably priced rail system covers most areas of Singapore, made up of 3 lines and 64 stations.
The alternative is the car but note that Singapore does have a system of electronic road tolls.

Accommodation

Most ex-pats live in one of the many towering condominium blocks. These towers usually offer good facilities including swimming pools and gardens. You can rent a landed house (house with a garden) but these are becoming increasingly rare in a country where land is at a premium.
